If the FJ arrives on time - I'll get mine tomorrow. Has anyone had an opportunity to use there FJ in snow/cold weather? I was wondering how the 3 wiper system and defroster work? Also, what kind of mileage do you guys get - are the auto trans really more economical than the sticks? I'm showing my age here right? Any off road tips would be appreciated. THANKS!!

I've done a small amount of snow driving. Only patches up in the mountains. I can tell you the traction control in all-wheel-drive mode (6 speed) doesn't like the deep snow at all. It doesn't know what to do. It beeps like crazy, and the brakes are going nuts. I guess actual 4 wheel drive is the only way to go in deep stuff. As for the wipers, I think they work great. There is hardly any space on the windshield that doesn't get wiped. Also, the near vertical windshield should keep snow build-up to a minumum.

No cold weather for me yet, but the 3 wiper system works great with mud.
There was a great video of a silver FJ kickin arse in the snow playing at the Toyota dealership. I'll see if I can find it and post the link.
Congrats on the FJ and welcome to the site

Snow? Hmmm. I forgot what that was. I seem to vaguely remember a chilly white substance known as snow...
lol
I live in Gulfport, MS. We see snow about once a decade and it don't stick around long. I am waiting for the next hurricane... I won't get stuck in my subdivision again - I will be able to drive around the trees, houses, and power poles and go right over the ditches, etc...

I'm in Victora BC. To tell you the truth, we only get snow here maybe once every 2 or 3 years. Fairly easy to find it in the mountains, though.
