I'm ready to get my FJ and I'm wondering what I might have missed. I've read some reviews that were negative and an owners statement about a really bad blind spot where the rear pillar is located. Is any of that legit or is it a frustrated Jeep owner?

Yes there is a blind spot but proper use of mirrors will compensate. Maybe the review you read is someone who must constantly look at himself in his mirrors to see how good he looks in his new FJ?

The blind spots are pretty bad. Many people are adding the tiny convex mirrors that stick on their side mirrors and they say it helps alot.

I have not noticed the blind spots being "all that bad" but I have my mirrors properly set and do not mind looking over my shoulder to check before I switch lanes.

My only issue with them is backing up, but I try not to attempt that at speeds so fast I can't stop if I hear a horn or the backup sensor go off

Thanks - sounds like a practical way to handle the blind spot.
