Hello to all. Looking to unload my current vehicle (04 Ford F-150 FX4 Supercrew), and am considering getting an FJ. Any positives and/or negaitives that any of you have uncovered since your purchases? Have not test driven one yet, but plan to this coming week. How is back seat room? Our other car is an 03 MINI Cooper S, which obviously isn't huge. Is it realistic for people to sit in the back reasonably comfortably? Any options you got that you wish you didn't, and vice versa? Anyone out there with a manual transmission and what are your thoughts on manual vs automatic? The dealers' sites I've checked don't seem to have any, so I'm guessing to get that I'll have to order.
From what I've read on this site so far, the FJ owners seem about as fanatical about their rides, as the MINI owners.
Sorry to ramble. Thanks for any insight you can give.

Well, I got mine to actually USE it. I mean take it in the bush, and not just logging roads. So far, it's worked as well as I expected. I personally haven't ridden in the back seat, but my buddys have said it's comfortable, just not very good views. The rear windows are said to be like airplane windows. But easy to get in and out. I got the 6 speed manual, which comes with the electric locking rear diff. It's a must have if you plan to "use" it. I also just got the base model. All the other options are useless "frills". Get them if you have too much money, but they are not necessary.

Thanks for the info. I intend to put it to use as well. I am frequently out on construction sites making site visits for my projects, and it's imperative to be able to get thru muddy clay, soft soils, and undeveloped ground. In addition, having room in the back seat helps with carpooling for swim team.
