I have the black cherry FJ and I was wondering if anyone else is having issues with the bird droppings staining the paint on the car.
At first I was told not to wax the car for 8 months... then the birds droppings start eating the paint. I took the car back and they buffed them out. Was then told to start waxing it with Mothers car wax - did it twice and had the car back again. They removed the stains. I just took it back this morning due to yet more stains. I was told they put some sealer on it but it is not working. The delarship will call California for tech support, it that fails they will bring someone in to look at it and if they determine nothing is wrong with the paint - it is on me!
Does anyone have any ideas/suggestions. I wash the car weekly and I get the bird droppings off as soon as possible. Thanks.

My paint is a lost cause by now. Bird droppings don't stay on very long when they are scratched off by branches. The bird crap is powerfull stuff...not much you can do other than more wax and sealer stuff.

The service manager is willing to put xzilion on the car - has anyone heard of it and is it a good idea?

I had a Honda and remember some bird droppings did stained the paint , is basically an acid. If you can put your FJ inside or will end up paying some good $$. Next step buy a rifle and start the shooting birds!

I'm getting "a touch of CLASS" installed on my FJ cruiser tomorrow. Since I have a black FJ, they strongly recommend having it installed. However, when they add the "touch of CLASS", they apply the protection on both exterior and interior. I told them to apply protection on the exterior only as the interior fabric is already water proof (the dealership told me they have been getting the same request from other new FJ owners). So, if you want to protect your paint from bird droppings, you should ask your dealership if they provide this.
