Hi there, I finally moved to California from Europe, and I am ready to buy a FJ, manual transmission, base version (I'll add the stuff I need by myself) and possibly blue in color.
I have visited a number of local (silicon valley) dealers and the result is: no way to have a manual shift. The salesman looked at the computer, called the supervisor, tried to convince me on another model (!) but failed to find a manual FJ for me. What is going on? I have the impression that if I just fly to a nearby state I can find one and drive home. What do you think? Would somebody advice me where to find the model I like?
Thank you Alessio

I saw a manual transmission FJ at my local dealer here in Tracy, CA and I also saw one at the dealer in Dublin, CA. Be careful if you buy one from out-of-state because California has Smog pumps and other Smog related junk on the engine that other states don't require. If you do buy one from out-of-state, California will make you add all that crap before you can register it...

I was able to get 2 manual base models, but I'm in Canada. Oh...the FJ is the same everywhere concerning emissions. They don't make different emissions for this truck.
