I just bought a set of the 17" alloys. What's everyone's opinion of the stock black wheels? At first I thought they started building the FJ from the top down and ran out of money when it got to the wheels but the more I see them the more I think they look OK. More rugged.
Maybe not on all colors but the black and black cherry are OK.

I have not seen one with black wheels up close - only in pictures so I really couldn't say. I think they look okay in the pictures though.

I really like the stock black wheels. I saw a Cruiser with them on at the dealer last week. Makes the vehicle look meaner than with the alloys. Though, on a black FJ they make it look like a futuristic cop car.

My Silver FJ has black wheels and so did my Black FJ. (you can't see the rim in my profile pic though, too much mud)
I didn't go for the upgrade because the black make the truck look more rugged in my opinion.
I'll post some pics of the black wheels in the photo gallery tomorrow.
I really liked the upgraded wheels until I drove around with black steel for a while. They grew on me and now I don't think I will upgrade for a while or maybe at all. Until I can put some 24" Daytons with spinners.
I could be talked into upgrading if the price is right. I still have a flat spare and I heard that's $150.00 to replace so it might make more sense to upgrade the rims and tires if I can find a good deal.

I didn't even know they were available with steel rims. I found out after a little research, that they weren't an option in Canada. We only get the aluminum rims.
