I am at roughly 5K miles and I am getting no better than ~18MPG. Ethanol is in use here in NY so that has a negative effect on MPG. I have tried to change up my driving style. Seems to me; no matter if I keep my foot out of it or not it is still 18MPG. I can tell you this much; at $3.35 a gallon; I'll be using the wife's Camry for long trips.

No Rack.
I just made a 925km trip. I am averaging about 23.75 miles/gallon. Most of it highway and mostly between 130-140 km/h Not bad for a truck.

My Cruiser gets 21.7 MPG with less that 3K miles and has a roof rack. Looking for increased mileage as I break it in.
