I think they would have done a lot better if they offered it in a different color than what's available. Like forest green, or brick red. Also, if they offered equiptment that wasn't available. Like an integrated 12V fridge, or extra power outlets, or lower gear ratios, or even a front locker. Way over priced for a bunch of stickers, and pretty colored shocks.

I am seeing a lot of posts regarding the cost of this TRD Special Edition not being worth the price... How many people actually payed the MSRP base model price of $23Kish? I see the $7250 price premium for the TRD, but every FJ I have seen on the lot has been optioned out and priced not far from the TRD model, maybe $500 difference at most?? When I ordered my TRD the dealership didn't even know they existed, and when I asked for a price they had to do some digging before they could even quote me, and again, I didnt pay much of a premium over the blue "non-TRD" model that I test drove. I guess on paper it looks like a price bump for the TRD, but in actuality, I dont think there are very many bare bones models out there coming in with that low of a sticker price.

I firmly beleive, if one wants it, they will pay for it. Must also acknowledge that purchasing a FJ with all the bells and whistles such as the special edition, is a waste of your money. Make the dealers work against each other on the net, you will get a good price for what your looking for. As stated, most models that arrive at the lot, are all over loaded. But if you want it, go for it.
Black spare tire cover dealer, when purchased with package, 325.00. Purchase yourself off the net anywhere from 95-150. Most add ons right down to the mats are way less after the puchase, from other sources.
Drive on FJ!
