I'm 6'2" and drive with my seat all the way back and "jacked up" all the way with that big lever thingy. I put my 5 year old girl in her car seat in the middle of the back seat at least twice a day, no problem. I've also ridden in the passenger seat and the rear seats a few times, and for over an hour without a break on curvy mountain roads. Slightly difficult entry and exit. leaning the front seats forward helps a bit. No contortion when seated. Plenty comfortable. No cramping. No claustrophobia. Visibility is okay... not great, but okay. Ventilation in the rear seats is better than you'd expect. It's fine. Ignore the whiners and get your FJ! You won't regret it.

Oh yeah... blind spots. If you are one of those who either doesn't or can't use mirrors, you may have some difficulty (and dents). If you can and do use your mirrors, including the little stick-on wide angle mirrors, you'll have no problem. There's a little learning curve, but like I said, "Ignore the whiners." The little (optional) back-up sensors/beepers are real handy, too... especially for those damn trees, Ryan!

Did a whole bunch or research on the new FJ, was going to check out the 4x4 auto version. Went to one of the local dealer close to my house, saw one TRD version with almost everything except the sufwoofer, loved it, the sticker was around $32900 something. The manager said could knock off $3,000.

My question is: 1) Is TRD version worth the $$$ as compared to the regular version? 2) Is $3,000 off a good deal for this vehicle?

The all black color looked sweet and mean.

The way I see it the TRD is a better deal than a regular FJ and you won't see one on every corner.
If you go to Toyotas web site and use the build your owns option to compare price, to equip one like the TRD would be about 33k and its still a regular FJ.

I would say go for it... but you better go quick being there are only 3200 being made.

If I had those back up beepers, I'd rip 'em out! Damn trees are too close, and it would be going off all the time!
Besides, it's not front and back I have problems with, it's trying to fit between them.

I think deep in my mind, I am sold regardless, I have a 350Z for over 4 years, I would think the blind spot on the Z is far worse than the FJ, and I managed through it. Besides, the Z is a 2 seater.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

R_R,
If you can mount one of these on each side of your front bumper, it might help.
