I am a building engineer in new york and work with computers as a hobby.I am ready to do some changes to the cruiser but first I have to be good to my wife, she loves the car, she think is hers.

Welcome to the community. I'm sure you will find many things to help with your upgrades right here on this site. We have a manuals and downloads section that has an electrical manual you might want to download. It helped me alot when I was installing my system.

I traveled around the country with my family last year - in a Sienna minivan. My neighbor shook his head and said that I lost a lot of "man points" by driving that car. My wife now gets the Sienna, I get the Cruiser AND my "man points" back.

I'm sorry to say this, but your neighbor wasn't wrong.

I had a similar experience: I inherited a 93 Mercury Capri. I drove it for three months when I was in the service and then sold it after a number of people told me that no respectable man who hasn't been neutered would be caught dead driving such a chick car. I guess I should be lucky that I didn't inherit a white Volkswagen Cabriolet...

Military are particularly brutal ont he car you drive. I know from first hand giving and receiving of abuse. I also own a '67 Bug so I get some points for owning a classic but also get crap for owning a Bug.

Miata and Liberty owner take the brunt of the abuse.
