I am going to change my factory exhaust to a MAGNAFLOW. There are many different exhaust option for the FJ. After doing some research I found that the difference between Magnaflow and the rest ( Flowmaster, Gibson etc) . Is that the Magnaflow exhaust system is made completely of steel,( no aluminum or partial steel parts) Also it come with a lifetime warranty. But probably the biggest difference is the Price $589.99 at the magnaflow website ( yeap you want the best on the market you have to pay the price). I was able to find it cheaper at some 4x4 retailers for $485, However i just found this guy that works in a big warehouse that can get it for me for $350!!! He said that will take about 3-4 weeks to get the order cause they do not keep it on inverntory. I was wondering if anybody else is interested in getting one so i can talk to this guy and get you guys the smae deal( Plus shipping depending on your location) Let me know and ill see what can i do Omar Dallas, Texas

I never understood why everyone feels they must spend hundreds of dollars to change out the exhaust when you can get the same results by replacing just the muffler. The factory system is mostly stainless steel anyway. Purchase the aftermarket muffler you want with a center inlet and offset outlet and take it to the local repair shop or muffler shop if you don't have what it takes to do it yourself and have them cut out the factory muffler and weld in the other. Most places charge an hour labor on a job like this. Same results, 1/4 - 1/3 the money.

I am thinking about replacing my muffler with an after market such as you are preparing to do. I was wondering how much resonation you will have inside the cab??? If and when you install can you post your comments. If it is noisey at cruising speeds I'm not interested. If it's noisey only when taking off........then I will probably do it! good luck with you mod! Steve "Stevenbutt" - 2007 Blue FJ Cruiser

Hello there Steven:
RAegarding your questions. I have to say that i am very please with my new exhaust. The sound it is very nice not just at cruising speeds as well as taking off. You can barely notice the resonation inside the cab.
There are some videos on www.magnaflow.com on how the exhaust will sound. However i found that on mine the sound is actually better , not sue if the recording sound has to do with it.
Anyways I highly reccomend it. If you are interested i can hook you up with my friend and can get amuch better price than retail. O
