I e-mailed Gobi last night to inquire about the rack. Got a response that the racks are $1,499.00 plus $199.00 freight. The ladders are $299.00 and the woman who replied to my e-mail said that they were running a special on free shipping for the ladders right now. Shipping for the racks is runnign 5-7 days. $1,499 is a bit pricing, but when you consider that the stock one from the factory is $680, and the Gobi one is larger and more "structural" (you can stand on the mesh bottom plate), it's probably worth the money.

Checked out the Gobi site and the Stealth rack looks pretty sweet. 1599.00 (free shipping) is pretty steep but maybe I can sell my current rack to offset the cost a little. Thanks for the info.

Just measured my garage...81" clearance. My FJ will be here next week. Looks like I have about 2" to spare with the roof rack in place

My Gobi is due next week.I almost didn't buy the FJ because of the rack issue. The dealers here in the North East were ordering the vehicles with the racks installed. When I informed the dealer that the rack wouldn't clear a standard 4 panel overhead door he changed his tune.
The Gobi comes standard with light bars front and back,an aluminum front fairing and has a 300lb. capacity. The listed height for the Stealth model is 76' but Paul the guy I spoke to in their engineering department said the height on the 4x4 FJ with stock alloy 17" wheels is actually 75.5". They are also able to provide you with instructions on how to get the wires for the roof lights down through the "A" pillar.
