I'm new to the FJ world. I used to own an Hummer H1 a few years ago which was a lot of fun then to change things up a sold it and bought a new Corvette Z06. After blowing an engine, a trans and an axel, I've had enough and now I'm interested in putting together a new rig but I need some help navigating all the information on the web.

1. Should I buy new or used? I like the idea of having a warranty so I'm leaning new.

2. What are the must have options for a new FJ and what is so great about the trail teams version? Some of the option dealing with the radio and auxiliary lighting seam expensive and inferior so what should I get from the dealer and what should I get aftermarket. I already know I'm going to want a new front bumper with a big brush guard and winch, new black wheels and tires and most likely a new radio head units with GPS, iPhone adapter and Bluetooth.

3. Is there a aftermarket catalog where you guys get most of your stuff from?

Thanks for your advice, I live in southern california

Buy new! I have a 2008 and I'm actually thinking about getting a 2010 just for the new Army Green color and a few new improvements... My FJ has been the best vehicle that I've ever owned and it's also the most fun! Good luck... Bob
