I bought my FJ last April. It was one of the first on the road, as I ordered one after seeing it at the D.C. auto show. After 2500 miles my FJ began vibrating and the check engine and traction control lights showed on the dash. This occurred at a speed in excess on 50MPH. I pulled over, turned the ignition off and restarted the vehicle. It drove fine for 2 weeks and the incident repeated. I stopped at a dealer (while traveling) who was 50 miles from home. They got misfire codes off the computer, said for the sake of time, it's probably bad gas and put alcohol in my tank. The FJ drove fine again, but I took it to my dealer when I returned from my trip. They could not duplicate the problem and returned the FJ. The problem duplicated itself that day (as usual as soon as I left the dealer). I returned to the dealer, and they had my FJ for 2 weeks. Changed wiring harnesses, spark plugs, injectors, and dropped the gas tank to check for bad fuel. They again returned the vehicle, without stating that it was fixed. They did say the gas tank was clean. My FJ drove fine for 6-7 weeks and it just duplicated the problem this week....twice!!It is now at the dealer again. I told them that I contacted Toyota, to invoke the Lemon LAW. Perhaps this was a mistake on my part, as now they dropped the tank again, this time claiming I have "bad gas."Too coincidental for my liking... ANYWAY......
HAS ANYONE ELSE HAD THIS PROBLEM??? If not...be wary!! I will keep this site updated on the upcoming events concerning my problem..
