i was looking into getting a lift kit as well. though, im concerned about compromising the smooth ride. i dont want it to be rough and rigid. .. id like a 3" lift.
any suggestions, skyjacker? someone told me i should go with a skyjacker lift, but id rather hear from FJ owners .. which lifts theyve used and what they would recommend.
im fortunate enough to only live 40 minutes from summit auto racing, and i know theyve got some really nice lifts there... any feedback from FJ owners with lift kit experience is much appreciated.
thanks in advance.. heidi

Well, a "real" lift kit will come with new springs and new shocks all around. I have the Old Man Emu 3" lift. It's probably one of, if not THE cheapest suspension lift out there. There are others like the lifts from www.allprooffroad.com They come with adjustable coil overs so you can make your truck the height you want. They are also available with remote reservoirs. You can even get new, stronger links, but all that costs $$$.

my fj came with bilstein shocks and read that they can handle a 2 1/2" lift without replacing shocks. any ideas on what lift?

I just put a Trailmaster 3" lift/leveling kit on my rig. I have the Bilstein Shocks on my FJ also and read that too. Has anyone confimred with you the practicality of doing that? I'd like to know too. Thanks
