Ok, my wife ordered these for my Bday (which was the 27th). I had given her a list of items I wanted for the FJC and the websites where she could find them. She decided on the Trail Gear Rock Sliders found at www.trail-gear.com
She went to 4wheel parts and they told her that those were a great buy and they appeared to be really solid and well made. They are in fact all of these things.
My problem however is the fact that when they shipped them (two seperate packages at 35lbs each) they wrapped them in white foam paper and then placed them into possibly the flimsiest cardboard boxes that had two blocks of styrofoam underneath the rails to level it out.
Needless to say, both of them busted through the ends of the boxes, but only one appeared to have been drug across the ground by UPS and then dropped on the end in the mud. We have had UPS pick up the damaged one because that is what Trail Gear instructed us to do.
Before we had UPS come back to pick up the damaged one, I looked both of them over for other damage because I had decided that if that was all that was wrong I would just repaint them with some Rhinoliner paint and slap 'em on. Well upon closer inspection, the one that had been damaged by UPS also had a spot on one of the bends on the outside of the tube that appeared to have been a hole that was filled in with welding and then sanded down and then painted. It looked like I could have done a better job (I am a trained welder, but not practicing). Hopefully they will take it back and trade it out because I had not had a chance to contact Trail Gear about this problem before UPS picked it up.
So, I have one half of the pair setting in my garage and hopefully will be able to put them on soon. I will post pics after the install as well as pics of the damaged hole patching soon. They do look nice though, they will look even better after they are installed.

Hope that works out for you.. I'm about to order a set as well. What part of the country are you in and what did shipping cost? Shipping has really gone up on everything this fall/winter. I think some UPS drivers are prepared professionals that would take "a little" care with packages, but others don't care. I've seen tham dragging stuff around too.. It's the nature of the business I suppose.. Ron

I live in Indiana and I think the shipping was like 36 bucks, if not a little more. It did not take long to get them and they are really beefy so I think it is money well spent, just waiting on the other half to be replaced now. I would ask trail gear to double wrap the sliders or at least tape up the ends really good before shipping. Good luck and hope you enjoy, I like them because they stick out far enough to use as a step as well and the fact that they bolt on in four different places to the frame. I guess it is just piece of mind knowing that I will really have to try and tear up the truck now. I think my next purchase might be some tail light guards...? I am still thinking about the bushwacker pocket fender flares, they look nice but I would really like to see them up close and really look at the quality.

While you are viewing, remember to look at the packaging. I have had pizzas in better constructed cardboard boxes! And these weigh 35lbs each!

I wouldn't be happy about that either. I would have sent both back. I can understand how it happens, but I wouldn't accept it to install on my FJ. It's obviously a shipping issue. I see it all the time, but those things are so heavy they have to be very difficult to package. I once got an Airaid CAD from Auto anything and the box looked like it had went to China. I got a steering box skid from Quadratec once and the part had destroyed the box. They (UPS?0 had just taped a few pieces of the box to the skid. Send the back for replacement.. Just bad luck.. Ron
