Does anyone know where the sparks plugs are? Is it possible for a regular guy to change them> My dealer wants 165.00 to change them after 30K miles.

Remove the black plastic cover on top of the engine and follow the wires to the three spark plugs on each side of the engine. Use the appropriate spark plug wrench to remove the plugs one at a time (don't remove all the wires off at once, just one at a time). Use a plug gapper to gap the plugs. Put oil on the plug threads and put them in hand tight and then torque to the proper tighntness - be carful not to cross thread when putting the plugs in (world of hurt and embarassment).
That said, you could probably go another 30,000 or 40,000 miles with the current plugs and reconsider the cost of installation then.

I to have been wanting to change my sparkplugs . i also have around 30 thousand miles on my motor , my question is , does any one know if there is a set of e3 plugs available for the FJ , and if so what is the part number . its all about performance...thanks

The stock # for the plugs is E56. I installed the plugs,a K & N air filter and changed the oil and added PX3 oil booster with Mobile 1 synthetic oil and can feel the extra ponies and have gained 2 MPG.
