I am currently experiencing serious problems on my 2007 FJ with little over 17K on the O.D. I am very concerned and here is the issue with my vehicle:
I recently went out on a short trip and suddenly when upshifting I noticed the engine light, ATRAC and VSC lights come on in unison. I just had Toyota install what they termed an intake control motor. Sounded fishy but I drove away satisfied and still under warranty.
No more than a short 10mile stop down the road for the afternoon at my local garage and then leaving for home 1/4 mile back up the road the lights are all on now again and this damn thing is bucking like a rodeo bronco in 2nd, 3rd &4th gear...similar symptoms would be a clogged inline fuel filter. This vehicle had seen minimal offroad use and is not abused. Filter & oil change at the local dealership since new.
Do I smell a fish. I have read recent blogs on other FJ sites about this problem related to ECU, gas, ATRAC, VSC etc. WTF Toyota????
Please contact me with any similar member experiences regarding this issue i.e. lean injector rails (bank 1&2) and a vehicle that is currently running in closed loop mode (injector/ECU) with a perfectly idling engine at 900 rpm. Toyota claims bad gas. I claim B.S.
Vehicle is currently undriveable. Staying at Toyota Daytona for 7 days for major diagnostics & appraisal. Could be a lemon. What's up with the member from V.A. with similar problems?
Me....I'm looking at Chevy.

Buddy...Chevy??? That's just crazy talk. Like you said, see the post about the VA guy. Even Toyota's are built on Fridays when all the workers are thinking about is going home for the weekend.
Doesn't mean you don't deserve the same great FJ I have. Don't give up! Fight the good fight.

I have just gotten the latest from Toyota International in CA and had a direct discussion with the Tech at Daytona Toyota.
The tech tells me that they broke down the fuel filter and gas tank breather. and siphoned out the tank. Upon inspection, they found white powdery deposits on the screen and said that whatever I last put in my tank (Amoco Mid-Grade 89 octane gas) has eaten away at the "lining" of my gas tank. I don't believe them.
Corporate tells me that this issue will not be covered under warranty and my guess is that I'm looking at well over 800 bucks to drop and replace the tank and have them flush the fuel lines.
I am ready with my lawyer to approach the dealership tomorrow and demand a refund or a new replacement vehicle under Florida Lemon Law. I am not going to take this B.S. from Toyota and I most certainly will not be buying another new vehicle from them again, ever!
