Well, I got tired of waiting for the dealer to release the XM receiver that I paid $450 for (instelled), since it won't be avail until Nov/Dec timeframe and went out and boughta Pioneer AVIC-Z1 in dash Nav/DVD system along with the bluetooth adapter, and XM receiver, and was less than $2k, for the 7' dislay that fist oh so nicely in the dash. I'll post pics later. As for the factory FJammer headnit, it is made by Fujitsu Ten. Install on the nav system took about 3 hours, since wires had to be connected to various systems on the ECU (reverse, and speed sensor lines), but there is a direct fit wiring harness as well as a double DIN mounting kit availible for like $20 for the FJ,which speeds up the process of installing/connecting everything/

How are you liking the Z1? I've been looking at them on Ebay, and finding prices all over the place, from like $500 to $2000. Does it work with the steering wheel controls? How do the maps get updated?

Thanks!

o far the Z1 is awesome! I was able to get a bypass circuit so you can watch movies while you are driving, or stopped at a light, and also lets people in the back seat watch movies while you are driving. The Z1 had 20 GIGABYTES of map data on it along with something like 11 million POI (points of interest). The Z1 has a hard drive in it as I stated above, and will allow you to put 10GB of music (mp3's, and it will rip CD's when you insert them!). As far as the updates, it would appear that you would purchase new map data on DVD-ROM, when it is avail. or you want to update the database. The steering wheel controls are lost when you install the unit, but they have a wireless steering wheel remote, that I bought as well and works great. Keep in mind though, if you buy one on ebay, and pay less than the list price ($2250.00) Pioneer voids the warranty on the unit. I bought mine from camerapros.com for $1375, and for $299 more I received a 3 year, in home warranty service.
